    <description>The best tool to clean your /var file system is 'cleanup'. It's not recommended to manually delete any files from /var/adm/sw where your critical patch and software files reside:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# cleanup -c 1 (man pages for details).&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There are lot of other things you can do to create space on /var. Check /var/adm/crash for big crash files, trim log files like syslog.log, mail.log, wtmp, utmp, other log files etc.</description>

      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;in my server, there are a lot of small file in these directories, are these files needed?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/var/adm/sw/queue/complete&lt;BR /&gt;/var/adm/sw/queue/lckfiles&lt;BR /&gt;/var/adm/sw/queue/logfiles&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can it be deleted? will server have any problems after it is removed.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>man swinstall&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/var/adm/sw/queue/&lt;BR /&gt;The directory which contains the information about all active and complete install jobs, copy jobs, and other jobs initiated by the SD commands&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Which means that if you need to maintain the inventory of the installed software then you better don't touch this directory.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-Karthik S S</description>

      <description>These are too small to worry about. Leave them alone. The /var/adm/sw is a critical directory for installing HP software and patches. The only tool you should use for this directory is cleanup. Read the man page as there are a number of choices.</description>
