    <description>STM is a great way to start. An additional free tool to look at is say,&lt;BR /&gt;sar -d 10 10&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Sometimes intermitent disk problems show themselves here as slow access times. You can compare to the other drives listed, and if one is much higher, or over 100 ms or so, you can consider it suspect.</description>

      <title>Running mstm diagnostics</title>

      <description>I have been receiving SCSI Reset errors and am trying to trouble shoot them. I would like to run mstm diagnostics on the ext_bus that is having the problems as well as the drives connected to it. In running these will I affect the data on the drives (oracle databases) in some way and/or will I affect the processes running on these drives or buses?</description>

      <description>Hi Beth,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It has always been my understanding that STM will warn you before any destructive diags are commenced. So I'd say go to that section &amp;amp; try the exercise.
