Do you get errors in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log?

It seems no error in syslog.log. The file in /etc/opt/resmon/persistence/m.* would grows every 5-10 minutes, currently is 15MB. Is it normally? Does any patch for it? Thanks for the help.

Hi,

First it is not normal that those files grow like that.
I think Robert is right and it is EMS related. You can check with stm and generate an errorlog.

Hope the path solves your problems.

Hi,

Can you please let me know which m.xxxxxxxx file is growing in the /etc/opt/resmon/persistence by using the ls -rlt command?

This behaviour is observed if the monitor aborts abnormally . With the m.xxxxxxx filename , I can figure out the monitor in problem.

I think you will have to upgrade stm to B.11.23.01.21, but I can not find the link. Maybe one of the other members knows where you can download stm for Itanium.

The support tools (online diagnostics and monitors) are distributed on the Core-OS DVD for 11i V2.0. When the HP-UX 11i V2.0 operating system is installed, the support tools are automatically installed.

The offline diagnostics are distributed on CD-ROMs which are shipped with HP-UX 11i V2.0 computers.

If you have the original release of HP-UX 11i V2.0 already installed, you can update the diagnostics from the Core-OS DVD. When you are updating the Core-OS, you will be prompted whether to update the diagnostics.

If you do not have the latest core-os dvd call you locale HP response center.
