How about running a find command to see if you can find where it's located? That might give you a hint. I couldn't find any such thing in /opt, /usr, /bin, or /sbin!

"find /opt -name resyncd"

Pete

Sounds like it should be associated with LVM mirroring. Do you have MirrorDisk/UX installed? Any syncing going on that you know of?

Pete

Are you running Veritas Volume Manager by chance (VxVM)? I found what appears to be a reference to resyncd in a Veritas VM document when I searched via google.

Judging from the document, my guess would be that the Veritas equivalent of vgsync/lvsync is resyncd.

I ran find on my systems running VxVM 3.5 - no resyncd on them.
I suspect this is probably an application binary.
As stated fun find on the whole system & the location it's found will be your best clue because it's not an OS binary or command.

Rgds,
Jeff
