    <description>Hi Alex,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;problem was with kbdlang file. it was set to UK keyboard. I renamed the file and rebooted the system. it asked me to specify a kbd type. I slected US kbd. it's working fine now. tnx for all ur help.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Qamar</description>

      <description>Hi All,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Today I faced a strange problem..my backslash/pipe key is not working on my hp,b2600 workstation system but when I connected the same keyboard to my inetl PC it's working fine there.       <description>it'll be down to local Xserver key mappings : on the PC you will be using the PC X emulators mapping , under true X ,use xmodmap -pke to see your current settings : you may want to try a&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;xmodmap -e "keycode 28 = backslash bar" depending on your key board or use the xmodmap output to set yours appropriately.</description>

      <description>Hi Alex, &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Checked my settings using xmodmap -pke. it shows "keycode 28 = backslash broken bar". I guess it's right. I made it "backslah bar" as per your suggession but without any luck.&lt;BR /&gt;There is no problem with the key at all as it is working from ISL prompt. one more thing.. My (") and (@) keys are overlapped. I mean when I press (") key it prints @ and for @ it prints ("). &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regds,&lt;BR /&gt;Qamar</description>
