    <description>If you are remote, try text mode&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;remove display variable.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/opt/ignite/bin/ignite&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;That should work in terminal mode.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Otherwise as suggested, get the DISPLAY variable working right. That variable should include the ip or hostname of the workstation you are running X software from.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>I run ignite remotely, and get the following messages, while xclock works fine. vt100 and vt220 are the terminal typed tried.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Jun Z&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The DISPLAY environment variable may be incorrect, or, if you are&lt;BR /&gt;running ignite remotely, you may need to allow the remote system&lt;BR /&gt;to access your local X server by typing&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;      /usr/bin/X11/xhost +lab005&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;on your local machine.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Do you want to proceed using the terminal version of ignite?&lt;BR /&gt;(yes or no) [yes] no&lt;BR /&gt;ERROR:   The interactive UI failed to start.  Check your terminal type.</description>

      <description>So far as I can see, all the conditions are the same for xclock and ignite. But once I used ip address for the display, ignite worked.&lt;BR /&gt;The name and address are correct in both file and dns. The file content is used since it comes first. &lt;BR /&gt;I'd appreciate if you can further explain about this.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Jun Z</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;When you do echo $DISPLAY&lt;BR /&gt;you'll see the IP address or the host name where the display is exported.&lt;BR /&gt;Export the display to thr IP address of the PC where you want GUI ignite to be displayed.&lt;BR /&gt;say the IP address of your PC is x.x.x.x&lt;BR /&gt;then &lt;BR /&gt;export DISPLAY=x.x.x.x:0.0</description>
