topic MIB Operation Status in Operating System - HP-UX

We have a HP-UX 11.00 A 9000/800 machine. The lanadmin command when executed reports that the operation status of the machine's LAN interface as DOWN.
The command ifconfig when executed reports that the machine's LAN interface as "UP".

Which of the above two status is correct?

How do we make the operation status of the LAN interface as UP?
We had tried resetting that LAN interface, but did not get any result.

Eventhough the operation status of the LAN inteface is DOWN network connectivity exists.

How many LAN cards do you have installed (hint: lanscan or ioscan -kfClan)? lanadmin does not always default to the working LAN card. Use the PPA number from lanscan to get lanadmin to select the correct interface card.
