On an N, L, A (or any machine where you can get into GSP):

Go into GSP (ctrl-B)
log in if appropriate.

At the prompt type TC

When in GSP you can do a HELP to see alla vailable commands.

Hi Scott,

The operation is different from system to system. On an N-class server, access the GSP either by connecting a console or by GSP lan (if you have configured). Once in GSP, then type

GSP>tc

This will ask you to confirm. Once confirmed, it will TOC and will try to save the dump. If your dump configuration (lvlnboot -v ) is proper, the system's memory image (as configured in crashconf -v) onto the dump device. When the system comes back up, it will retrieve the image from the dump device and write into your savecrash filesystem if it is enabled.

-Sri
