resyncd running ?

Hi,

I seen in a previous post someone had the same question, but no real answer came out of it.

Does anyone know where the "resyncd" comes from?
- No manual Page
- No hit in Google
- No result of the find command
- No previous answers in this forum

It looks like :
root 8603 0 0 Mar 3 ? 0:00 resyncd

Anyone an idea?

I suspect your system is in a SG cluster and the daemon may have something to do with shared disk managment (SLVM) and the specialized activation modes for Volume Groups.

Nope .. even on a standalone m/c I can see this daemon running ..

OK - guess I was wrong on that one. Did you mean that your system has serviceguard loaded but it is not part of cluster currently? Hmmmm....Wonder if /dev/slvmvg exist on your system? Or any of the other systems with the daemons running.

OK => /dev/slvmvg is created when a node starts the ServiceGuard daemons and is used in the management of exclusive or shared volume group activation.

Floyd,

You are right. The system has serviceguard product installed in it (part of MCOE) and has the /dev/slvmvg file. However, the system is not part of any cluster.
