How can I send a mail to numeric pager. I know I can only send the numbers; but how?

If you need to send numeric codes to a numeric pager, consider the script in this thread:

it allows you to generate pages to numeric pagers based on the code provided on the command line.

I am Informix DBA and want to send numeric message and I don't have root password. Then how can I execute the sendpages.sh script? Can u let me know what if I require to run this script.

Sorry, you can only run this as root. However, if you cannot get the root guys to set you up, you might want to consider getting one of those pagers that has e-mail capability (ie. alphanumeric pagers) and your service provider can provide you with an e-mail address for your pager.

The only disadvantage with e-mail pagers is that they relay in the availability of the network...
