Hi,

If you allready installed it, you should be able to backup the apa config files. They are placed in /etc/rc.config.d/hp_apa* ( portconf and conf) the netconf (ipconfig)and the hpbtlanconf for same speed/duplex port settings. This in addition to the documents SEP was so kind to provide should get you started.

HTH,

Gideon

Hi,

I am at home so check the syntax and the filenames. I can not verify it.
In the apaconfig and the netconf and the hpbtlanconf files the lan numbers are provided. lan0 lan1 etc. These lan settings can be different if you pull them out of a server and place them in an other server. You can use the lanscan command to find out the new lan numbers and alter them in the config files. In the netconf file you also have the ip-config. If you want to change that do it.
Possible steps

1. shut down old server.
2. pull out the cards,
3. install apa software (codewords/licentions needed copy /var/adm/sw/.codewords old server) the server will need to reboot, you could alter /var/adm/sw/defaults reboot_cmd=" shutdown -h"
4. put in the cards and boot the new server.
5. copy the config files to /etc/rc.config.d/ and alter them ( lanscan and ipconfig)
6. start apa. /sbin/init.d/hpapa start

done.
I do not know if this can work with SUN. you could try it, it is PCI.

HTH,

Gideon

Hi again,

If you have the time i would install and configure it from the beginning. That way you are sure you understand how it is configured.
I think the documents provided by SEP should get you started. And you have the old config file to fall back on.

Succes!

Gideon
