If you are trying to connect to your HP server you have to have the apache or any web service running.
test with ps -ef |grep apache

or if you are connecting to the GSP, you have to enable the web console in the GSP using the EL command from the GSP.

In both cases http://ipaddresss
should work
With best wishes
naveej

Hi,

A properly configured webconsole can be reached by typing in http://webconsole. That should open the page and start a jave applet.

If that doesn't work, answering these questions might help:
- What is the ip of your webconsole. It should have a different ip than your server.
- Is this the first time you've used it?
- If not, has anything changed?
- If it is, has it been configured?

If this doesn't help, you can reset the webconsole by keeping the button on it pressed and unplugging and plugging the power cable. It should start blinking some lights.

HTH,

Robert

Thanks for all the responses.

- it used to work until i had to reboot the server last week. So i think i don't need to make any new configuration.

- it is a direct connection, there is no external web console with a separate IP Address.

- there must be some processes missing on the server, but i don't know which.
With http://ipaddress, i get no connection.
An Apache process is not running on the server.

I've already used this console in the past.
I remember it was very easy, with the Internet explorer and IP adress...
Now i don't know what's wrong.

Thanks
JFS

Hi JFS,
The LAN console, to the best of my knowledge, uses a seperate IP address than the server itself. You need to get into the GSP to see what it's LAN settings are. At the GSP you can determine the IP of LAN Console and enable/disable access from a browser.

When you get to the console press Ctrl-B to enter the GSP. By default username and password are blank. From the GSP prompt you can type "HE" to get help and LI to list commands.

A couple of helpful commands are:

LS will show you the status of the LAN Console.

EL will allow you to enable/disable access to the LAN/WEB console.

Hope this helps.
