Hi everyone,

I wanted to boot to single user mode on a C110.

So I interrupted boot process and managed to get into boot admin.

after choosing to boot from the primary HD, the system did not prompt me if I wished to interact with the IPL

All I got was something like "cannot load IPL"

The system then goes on to boot the primary HD and is able load the CDE login screen

What could be wrong? Thank you for your time

Paul,

You could try setting autoboot and autosearch off (using "setboot -b off" and "setboot -s off") then reboot again.

Pete

Paul --

If the sysetm will boot into multiuser mode (but you can't log in cuz you are missing the password) then IPL is healthy.

From boot admin, type:

boot pri isl

this should get you the prompt you are looking for.

Best regards,

Kent M.
You will be able to switch off the autoboot and boot from the alternate path from the BCH menu also.

use the configure command in the BCH menu for the same

with best wishes
naveej
