We have an L-class system which for some unknown reason has 'lost' ten minutes. Is there an easy way to reset the system clock forward say from 9:05 am to 9:15 am?

Any and all help will be appreciated.

Chuck Ciesinski

Hey Chuck,

You can use the date command.

How long did it take for the time to drop back ten minutes? Was it a trickle or relatively quick?

Sounds like you might need a new battery on your system board.

Hope this helps!

-Bryan

You can use "ntpdate" which will update your clock based on the time obtained from the Network Time Protocol server specified.
Note that you can configure your /etc/ntp.conf and /etc/rc.config.d/netdaemons files to ensure that your clock is keeping time consistently.

To all who replied,

Thank you for your quick response. The server lost the 10 minutes in about 5 days. WE have adjusted the clocks and are now engaging a 'synch' program and background daemon..

Again, much thanks,

Chuck Ciesinski
