Yes and you will need new codewords for these. User applications will vary. Now for the bad news: Upgrades from 10.20 to 11.00 almost never succeed. The success rate is in the single-digit percentiles. You might as well plan for a cold install of 11.0 and because 11.0 is to be obsoleted rather soon, I would install 11.11 instead.
In my opinion , do a clod install instead of upgrade and then reinstall all your softwares from the application cd's.

Upgrade can be messy and lead to unstable system , in my experience . Cold install is much better .

I agree with the first two posts about the cold install, but not necessarily about re-installing the apps: depends whether your apps are on the system disc or not.

I've done a cold install of 11i on a server that previously had 10.20 and the apps (which were on a separate disc) still worked afterwards. But it may well vary from one app to another, so don't take it as read that they will still work just because they're on a separate disc.

Mark Syder (like the drink but spelt different)

To answer your question, yes you need to reinstall your OnlineJFS and Mirror-UX softwares along with others. Contact HP to generate new code words for these.

I would suggest you to do a cold installation than an upgrade as others said. Backup your data, print your configurations and settings, break the mirror, install new OS (11.11 recommended) on the system and then reinstall your applicationd and additional softwares. Remember to export your LVM volumes with map file and then import it back to the new OS. This method is easy and safe.

If you want to look at specific checklist and procedures to follow a cold install from 10.20 to 11.X, do a search on the forums.

I urge you, if possible to go cold install.

You will need to reinstall and do code words and then do your applications.

I have heard many stories about that upgrade and most of them are not terribly good.

SEP
