Forget SAM. Follow these steps and note where any errors occur and that will give you a better understanding of any underlying problems.

lpshut
lpadmin -xmyprinter
lpsched

Man lpshut, lpadmin, lpsched for details.
Hi All,

I am running on HPUX 11.11 and need to remove a remote printer. Have tried using SAM but it says the printer does not exist even though SAM is displaying it. LPSTAT also shows the printer as available. I have fopund various directories relating to the printer in /etc/lp, /var/sam/lp and /var/spool/lp can I just delete these?
