      <description>Hello members,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I am facing a problem with my HPUX 11i startup while login as any user the .profile file will not execute, but if I am using root login the .profile is working okay. The default shell is configured for ksh for user. any solutions advice ..please reply ASAP&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Binu&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Binu -&lt;BR /&gt;Are you sure it is the .profile or are you referring to the .kshrc?&lt;BR /&gt;If referring to the .kshrc then  DTSOURCEPROFILE=true must be set in the .dtprofile.&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;dl</description>

      <description>Hi Binu,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you are talking about login to CDE, then make sure the user has a file called .Xdefaults in the home directory with the line "dtterm*loginShell: True". This will make the dtterm to execute .profile. Add more lines replacing dtterm with hpterm, xterm etc., depending on your requirements.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If the login is not through CDE, then as mentioned before, it's a permissions issue and follow the corresponding suggestions.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-Sri</description>
