CD-ROM Suddenly Disappeared

I am attempting to install software form a company called FLUENT. The installation requires the use of pfs_mount and uses 4 CD's. I ran the following commands:

nohup pfs_mountd &
nohup pfsd &
nohup pfs_mountd -t rrip -o xlat=unix /dev/dsk/c0t1d0

I was then able to install the first CD. Then I ran /usr/sbin/pfs_umount /cdrom and was unable to remove the CD. A look at bdf showed that the cdrom drive was no longer mounted. But the CD would not eject! I rebooted the system thinking that would free it up. Now the sys doesn't know it has a CDROM drive! If I try to do a normal "mount /cdrom", I get "/dev/dsk/c0t1d0: No such device or address". The /etc/syslog file shows: Mount file systems
Output from "/sbin/rc1.d/S100localmount start":
----------------------------
mountall: cannot mount /dev/dsk/c0t1d0
mountall: diagnostics from mount
/dev/dsk/c0t1d0: No such device or address

Can someone tell me how to fix this and perhaps tell me what I did wrong? Any help will be greatly appreciated!
And I will reward with points!

Run ioscan -fn > ioscan.all
Then take a look in the output file ioscan.all and see if it sees the CDROM..if it doesn't than you have a hardware problem.
You could try taking your system completely down (power down) and then bring it back up and rerun ioscan and see if it sees it then. If that doesn't get it for you, then you have a hardware problem and will need to place a call. However, doing a power (-may-) get it for you. At least it's worth a try.

See whether the device file for your cdrom is present in /dev/dsk/ and /dev/rdsk/. If not, use insf to recreate it.
