Users login was kick off and the message is > Read error from network: Connection reset by peer Connection closed.

It happens to a number of users, wonder is it due to the system or some other configurations that I should check?
Pts will be awarded to provide some clues!
hi,

connecting from windows machine??

ping -t server ip

and see if there is the timeout is getting increased.

on the server side, check with lanadmin and look for any errors.

the best one would be netfmt. It will give the status of the lan card whether any disconnection has occured from the network or not. man netfmt for details. don't remember the exact syntax

with best wishes
Naveej

hi

in /etc/services and /etc/inetd.conf check to see that the telnet daemon is enabled / listed. check for the # signs before it. but i don't think there could be any issue as you are able to telnet to the server.

/var/adm/inetd.sec is the file which is used to enable security, we can block particular IP address, subnet depending on services. check for any line which contain deny and the telnet service

Is your network card on the server poping up with any errors in netfmt and lanadmin?? It could easily be a network disconnection.

with best wishes
Naveej
