system intermitent failure

Hello,
I am running hpux 11.11 on an RP2470.
I have some intermitent system failure (system does not respond), and I am not sure what are the troubleshooting steps.I suspect it is hardware problem, but I don't know how to locate the problem more specifically. I have reinstalled the OS already once, but it did not solve the problem.

What exactly is the messages/error you get??
As root execute the command dmesg.
Check /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log.

Check STM. It will gives if there are any hardware errors.

Hi pascal,
Also check the GSP log for any hardware errror and act accordingly.

Press B from Console to go to GSP

GSP> sl
Select E for error log.

First you need to isolate the Hardware for any problems and then look into OS issues if any.

/usr/sbin/swlist -l product|grep -i STM.

If you have it,

echo "selall;info;wait;infolog"|cstm > /tmp/all.log

Check /tmp/all.log for any errors.

I ran the STM tool and
excercised memory: successfull
each CPU: successfull
both CPU in the same time: failure ->system crash
any idea?

I ran the echo "selall;info;wait;infolog"|cstm > /tmp/all.log

Time to place a hardware call with HP. You seem to have a memory errors on one of the memory modules.
