    <description>when i am doing a ypmake on the NIS slave I am getting the following error:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;./ypmake&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;For NIS domain newlook.co.uk:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Building the passwd map(s)... passwd build complete.&lt;BR /&gt;   Pushing the passwd map(s):  passwd.bynamenis server not registered at mgtmgr.&lt;BR /&gt;  passwd.byuidnis server not registered at mgtmgr.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Building the group map(s)... group build complete.&lt;BR /&gt;   Pushing the group map(s):  group.bygidbind_to_server clntudp_create error: RPC_PROG_NOT_REGISTERED&lt;BR /&gt;bind_to_server clntudp_create error: RPC_PROG_NOT_REGISTERED&lt;BR /&gt;Can't bind master to send ypclear message to ypserv for map group.bygid.&lt;BR /&gt;./ypmake[16]: 11986 Bus error(coredump)&lt;BR /&gt;  group.bynamebind_to_server clntudp_create error: RPC_PROG_NOT_REGISTERED&lt;BR /&gt;bind_to_server clntudp_create error: RPC_PROG_NOT_REGISTERED&lt;BR /&gt;Can't bind master to send ypclear message to ypserv for map group.byname.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can any body please help</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;what is the o/p of &lt;BR /&gt;#rpcinfo -s &lt;DOMAINNAME&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;see man rpcinfo for details &lt;BR /&gt;command looks like the ypserv daemon is not listening &lt;BR /&gt;just try restarting the nis server by &lt;BR /&gt;/sbin/init.d/nis.server stop&lt;BR /&gt;/sbin/init.d/nis.client stop&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/sbin/init.d/nis.server start&lt;BR /&gt;/sbin/init.d/nis.client start&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/DOMAINNAME&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;The error is because the ypserv,rpcbind,etc are not registered with rpc which you could see from rpcinfo command.&lt;BR /&gt;if you run the rpcinfo command what do you get ?&lt;BR /&gt;i mean do you get the ypserv,rpcbin,rpc.yppasswdd etc.., registered to a particular program number or not ? &lt;BR /&gt;if you get it registered with a particular program number then use &lt;BR /&gt;# rpcinfo -u ( u = udp or -t  if it's tcp )&lt;PROGRAM number=""&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This should give ready and waiting &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/PROGRAM&gt;</description>
