Unable to boot through CD

Hi,
I have rp2470 server in which an external cd drive is connected. The model of the server is
9000/800/A500. HPUX 11i is installed on the system.
I would like to install HPUX 11.0 and while booting through the CD, the machine reboots giving an unexpected reboot message.
The CD is dated Nov 1999.
Is it that we cannot boot using the external CD drive or we require the new CD containing 11.0?.
The system is supplied with 11i though.

The problem is a wrong kernel onto the CD.

Are you sure that rp2470 supports a 11.00?

Try to boot with a 11.11 cd...

Hi,

Are you able to boot through a different CD.
Possible media or CD-Drive failure.
check the drive with other media or boot from the present O.S. mount the same media and see whether you are able to read atleast,
but his will not confirm that the media is good enough for installation.
You may have to try with different media for installation..
I think this problem has nothing to do with the date of O.S. on the CD.
HP-UX 11.0 is supported on rp24XX..

Hi,
Rp2470 support 11.00 (I installed recently)
But try with a latest 11.00 Cd!
Else CDdrive or CDROM may be bad.

Thanks for the replies. I had earlier gone through the web page and got information that it supports 11 and 11i..
I feel the information provided is wrong as the boot was giving message related to the wrong kernel version.
The CD is fine as I am able to read through it and am able to boot through the Hard disk which is 11i.
I will try to boot using the 11i CD and will let you know shortly.

I was able to boot and install using the latest CD ie; september 2003 which was supported on 2470..
The old CD that I had .. nov 2000 doesn't suport rp2470.
