      <description>Can anybody share the common booting problems due to lvm or root corruption,Booting from cd  for repairing the same and differnt instances like that  and solutions of the same .</description>

      <description>Hi&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If your vmunix corrupted or missing, using &lt;BR /&gt;the installation CD, you can go the recovery shell and copy the vmunix from the cd. And once the server is able to boot from the disk, you can restore your &lt;BR /&gt;file using the backup&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards&lt;BR /&gt;Sajeesh&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;Addition to above:&lt;BR /&gt;Also you can recover some files like &lt;BR /&gt;/etc/passwd,/etc/group,/etc/inittab..etc..,&lt;BR /&gt;by mounting the root filesystem.&lt;BR /&gt;Also if by chance your /usr or /var is full and after your all tries you are not able to bring the system up in single user also then &lt;BR /&gt;you could mount these filesystems and trim them. ( i never did this ) &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
