Error in syslog...

Hi All,

I have come across this error in the syslog...

Jul 26 06:20:21 hostname vmunix: LPMC type : D-Cache Parity Error.

Does anyone know what this is ?

Server is an N class running HPUX 11.00. Has a RAID 4si card attached to a DS2300. I have a feeling this is something to do with the RAID ?

Hi,

Please load stm & run the info to see
if you get any single-bit errors in memory
or any other errors on cpu.
Revert back

Hi,

There are two type of Hardware errors in HP. LPMC and HPMC (low priority Machine Check and High Priority Machine Chaeck). Your error is LPMC and cam from D-cache (Data cache). There might be i/o error while CPU tried to read data from cache. If this error logged only once or twice it can be ignored but if it's coming frequently please raise a call with HP support.

this has nothing to do with the RAID4Si card.
You have had a Data Cache Parity error on a cpu in the system.
If you only get one or two of these, then you should be ok, but keep a watch for this, as if they start to occur frequently you are liable to have a system crash.
You may want to get the hardware logs checked by HP Support

See it should be server processor bard problem.Why don't check the hardware logs
