    <description>IPL'ing your tape drive or tape library should actually terminate the process. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Depending on the type of connection, you could conceivably unplug the connection, but rebooting the system should always be a last resort.</description>

      <title>Kill HUNG ioscan Process</title>

      <description>Gd Day Forum,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I just run the command ioscan -fH 0/5/0/0 and it appears HUNG.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The hardware path 0/5/0/0 is attached with tape drives.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I tried performing kill -9 &lt;IOSCAN pid=""&gt; but to no avail.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can anyone advise me?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thanks n regards/cliff&lt;/IOSCAN&gt;</description>

      <description>If you can't hack it out of memory with ipcrm, a reboot will get it out.  (Not a great solution, but sometimes the only one)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-Brian.</description>

      <description>Hi Forum,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I performed ioscan -funC tape and realised that some tape drives were showing status "CLAIMED" and some tape drives were showing status "SCAN" on hardware path 0/5/0/0.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I monitored a while and realised now all the tape drives are showing status "CLAIMED".&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I performed ps -ef |grep ioscan and now it is gone.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;regards/cliff</description>
