    <description>After disconnecting the cables you may need to restart the network or the entire machine.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If telnet is working between the boxes then I can only say a few things.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Then lan0 isn't really down.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Or the telnet didn't go through lan0.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It would be helpful if you told us the machine types we're dealing with, what the OS level is, ex 10.20 11.00 11iv1.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Its kind of tough to figure out things with sketchy information.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;try an ioscan or an ioscan -fnC btlan&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Lets see if there really is some dead hardware.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There is also the old look at the NIC test. Are there lights on the things?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;More info=faster resolution.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>I saw lan0 whit a "down" status on both host-A and host-B when I checked the MC, I re-connect the cable which connecte the lan0 between host-A and B ,but the problem still the same. I tried to ping lan0 each other ,it's ok with reply messages , telnet lan0 also is OK ,too .</description>

      <description>Hello&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;How many cards do you have on the server ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you issue ifconfig lan 0 what do you get ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;When you telnet or ping the card are you sure you are going through that interface ? ie do you have other cards with addresses that are up and available ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;can you linkloop the card ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Issue&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;netfmt -t 30 /var/adm/nettl.LOG00 &amp;gt; /tmp/netfmt.out&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Look at the output file, do you have any recent entries ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;HTH&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Steve</description>

      <description>Do a lanadmin and check for Hardware and operational status of the NIC and if required do a reset on the same. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope above helps&lt;BR /&gt;Prashant</description>
