I need to create user who can only acces sam for configuring printer. So how to do that ?

I don't think you can do that. Printer configuration in SAM is not a standalone program (like swinstall). SAM uses a text program (lpmgr) and parses its output to produce its own.

You can create a user with sufficent privs and put him SAM as a shell, but he can then do everything with your server...

# sam -r , click the user, printers and plotters.

hi you can do that by usinf restricted sam builder . which allows non-sam builder to access sam. to start this give a command

# sam -r
just accept the defaults for now and click o.k

in the next screeen it will show the funtional areas in which partially enabled disabled options are there .select action ---->Disable all and next select the required option and go to options---> enable it .and save it . which will ask for the user name .select the user name to whom you want to give the permission .

From the menu select the user,selct the default and proceed.
