Hi Alexander,

I suggest the following online document for better understanding of HP-UX administration.

http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/5990-8172/5990-8172.html

The above should cover some of the important administration tasks.

docs.hp.com along with forums.itrc.hp.com can be your friends for your day-to-day hp-ux management.

-Sri

Hi Alexander.

A very good documentation is the online HP-UX Software Recovery Handbook. Every hpux thread is documented : installation, boot, startup, recovery, installation, patches, kernel, network, etc, etc :
On itrc, choose "Maintenance & support for HP products", knowledge trees, HP-UX Software Recovery Handbook. On with direct link :
http://www4.itrc.hp.com/service/iv/node.do?node=prodITRC%2FWW_Start%2FN1%7C16

On the knowledge tree, you will also see : "HP-UX Operating System" and "Hardware-Servers" that can also help you.

Good reading !
Olivier.

HP used to have a class for Admins with Solaris background to move to HP-UX. Looks like they still do. http://www.hp.com/education/courses/h5875s.html
There is even a remote instructor assisted version.

I would recommend Network and System Administration I and II from education.hp.com

There is enough different about HP-UX that the class material is invaluable.

Also, just reading the various HP-UX systems administration questions and answers on the forums can teach you a lot.

SEP
