Looks like the disks are not bottable

Try this

BCH> search ipl

if you do a "search ipl" from the boot prompt, it will list only the bootable devices that the PDC sees.

Do you see the pri/alt disk listed ?

After giving sea ipl, did you press any key ?

If no key is pressed and the display just returns, that indicates system sees no bootable device.

Try booting from the CD, get in to the recovery shell mode and try to recover the boot area

Are you sure the disks have OS on it ?

The disks should have OS on them however someone has moved them from their original slots.

How can you boot form cd when the boot path is not displayed - or is there a generic address for cd:

0/0/0/1/0.1.0 ??

Thanks

There is no generic address for the CD. H/W path of the CD depends on how it is interfaced with the system.

What are the devices you see when you issue "SEA". The description for the CD will also be Random Access Media (like for the disk).

Lawrenzo,

Could you please settings of your console. Sometimes consoles produce additional return code.
If you use a dumb terminal, switch it off, press D and switch on. Release the D-key in 10 seconds. This restores all default console parameters.
BTW, what HW model do you have ?

HTH
