    <description>Hi Jerry,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;test if you have largefiles enabled.&lt;BR /&gt;Check which volume you use, then:&lt;BR /&gt;'fstyp -v /dev/vg??/lvol? |grep -i f_flag'&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If f_flag = 0 then you have 2 GB max,&lt;BR /&gt;if f_flag = 16 then you have 8 GB max&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards&lt;BR /&gt;Volkmar&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;P.S.&lt;BR /&gt;First solution could be, to give a second file name, so tar file will be splitted.</description>

      <description>When I try to tar a directory on HP-UX 11i I&lt;BR /&gt;get the following error message near the end&lt;BR /&gt;of the last files in the directory:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;tar cvf dir.tar dir&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;rw-rw---- 202/101 209723392 Oct 27 05:11 2004 edcr1p.tmp/vault_sces_index.dbf&lt;BR /&gt;Tar: end of tape&lt;BR /&gt;Tar: to continue, enter device/file name when ready or null string to quit.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If I try to look at the tar I get:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;tar tvf dir.tar&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Tar: error! blocksize changed&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Total size of the directory is 2.5gig:&lt;BR /&gt;2587692 edcr1p/&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Have you run past the end of a tape or filled the disk?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Do you have the tar patch that allowslarger files?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/mainPage.do" target="_blank"&gt;http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/mainPage.do&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Is the filesystem you are writing to set up for largefiles?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>
