      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;Is it possible to make uname under HP-UX&lt;BR /&gt;show the fully qualified nodename of the&lt;BR /&gt;machine?  I have set the hostname to the&lt;BR /&gt;long one, but uname still returns the short&lt;BR /&gt;one.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Any help would be appreciated.</description>

      <description>uname does not return the FQDN. Might want to look at nslookup. This will return the FQDN if it is defined in the hosts file or in the DNS tables. Look at how nsswitch.conf is setup.</description>
