I think the sendmail.pid is supposed to be automatically created when you start sendmail. You should not have to create that file manually. If you do a 'ps -ef | grep sendmail' does it show that the sendmail daemon is running? If not try doing an '/sbin/init.d/sendmail start' to start sendmail. If it doesn't start, is the /etc/rc.config.d/mailsrvs configured correctly?

Cause i need to edit this pid to sendmail.pid file.

Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Patricia

The error you are getting is caused because your sendmail.cf file is designed for sendmail version 7, and the sendmail you are running is version 6.

You need to either find a sendmail.cf file compatible with sendmail version 6, or upgrade your sendmail version.
