Hi Mehul

"man sar" would be a good place to start.

Other usefvull commands if you have it on the machine would be "vmstat" and glance( if licensed) and gpm(if licensed). Gpm is a graphical application though.

If you have purchased glance or gpm or measureware, go look under /opt/perf/paperdocs ( deeper in it depending on what you have) for some nice explanations of general HPUX performance metrics and hopw to interpret them.

Regards
Gerhard
On this general subject, there is a book on HP-UX Performance and Tuning (or is it Tuning and Performance) by Robert F. Sauers. Actually there are two editions, the first for up to 11.0 and the second updated for 11i. Also, there is a paper that has been posted many times, but I will upload it again that might be of interest.

Mehul,

'man sar' explains you each and everything on sar options.

If you want a better understanding, request for an evaluation copy of 'sarcheck' at sarcheck.com.

I can suggest you to look at Glance+ (which is very desired to have atleast on HP systems) but 'sarcheck' output can explain you the state of the system in 'plain English'.

-Sri
