Recently I installed ghostsript in my HP-UX 11.11 server from a .depot software. When I run 'gs' it is searching out a file 'libz.sl' and gs is not running due to unavailability of this file. I searched out the file in the entire server, but the file is not present.

How to get this file ?

Hi Deepu,

Did you install all the required products for Ghost script?. Ghost Script needs quite a few run time dependencies. Look at the dependencies and download them as necessary from here.

http://hpux.cs.utah.edu/hppd/hpux/PostScript/ghostscript-7.07b/

libz.sl comes with zlib.

-Sri

And if you install zlib, e.g. from http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Misc/zlib-1.2.2/ , be sure to have an up to date version.

Everything below 1.1.4 has a security vulnerability

FYI gv (one of the best *viewers) also got a recent update. I don't know if it is available on the proting center already, but at the time of writing the most recent version is 3.6.0

Enjoy, Have FUN! H.Merijn
