Nice configuration files.

There is a log file you want to look at. Every time SG tries to failover a package it logs the attempt.

/etc/cmcluster/pkg_name/pkg_name.log

So that file will tell you what went wrong. You may be able to figure out what went wrong yourself.

pkg_name and pkg_name.log is generic. The name of the log file depends on what you named the package in the SG config files you uploaded.

I didn't read them, because I don't have what I need to solve the issue. Yet.

SEP

Any tiny mistake in the configuration files can cause this.

You need someone to look at the configuration files carefully.

You did run the build procedures and got no errors right?

At this point all I can offer is documentation to read.

There should be a log file. I'm not the right guy to look at the configuration files, I've too little real life experience with SG.

http://docs.hp.com/cgi-bin/fsearch/framedisplay?top=/hpux/onlinedocs/B7609-90022/B7609-90022_top.html&con=/hpux/onlinedocs/B7609-90022/00/00/24-con.html&toc=/hpux/onlinedocs/B7609-90022/00/00/24-toc.html&searchterms=package%7cfailover%7cserviceguard&queryid=20041202-214539

http://search.hp.com/redirect.html?url=http%3A//forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do%3FthreadId%3D293385&qt=serviceguard+%2Bpackage+%2Bfailover&hit=2

Package configuration planning:
http://docs.hp.com/cgi-bin/fsearch/framedisplay?top=/hpux/onlinedocs/B3936-90079/B3936-90079_top.html&con=/hpux/onlinedocs/B3936-90079/00/00/31-con.html&toc=/hpux/onlinedocs/B3936-90079/00/00/31-toc.html&searchterms=package%7cfailover%7cserviceguard&queryid=20041202-214539

http://search.hp.com/redirect.html?url=http%3A//forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do%3FthreadId%3D269706&qt=serviceguard+%2Bpackage+%2Bfailover&hit=3

SEP

You pkg config file is monitoring the wrong subnet.

Modify SUBNET 10.234.4.0 to SUBNET 10.234.0.0 on both apppkg.conf and dbpkg.conf files.

Also modify the subnet entry in control.sh on both the places. (i.e. apppkg and dbpkg).

You can also verify your subnet using the following command.

cmquerycl -v -n jllk1 â n jllk2 -l net|more.

After modifying , you stimulate, primary and secondary lan failure by removing the cables, pkg should move to the adoptive node.

Whenever you have pkg related issues, refer pkg script log file. In your case,

etc/cmcluster/dbpkg/control.sh.log

That will give a clear picture as what is going on.

Best of luck

- Krish
