Hi,

I want to copy several remote printer queues from one server to another.

Is there a way that I can do this without having to enter each printer one by one, like a printer queue file?

Thanks Colin.

Hi,

You can use sam in order to save all your printers configurations.

Sam -> Printer and Plotter -> lp spooler -> Save / Restore Spooler Configuration.

This will backup your configuration under /var/sam/lp.

Then move these files on the other server and restore.

Warning : I don't know of you can add and restore at the same time. Restore means "remove all and then restore" ...

Regards,

Patrice

Hi
The answer that Patrice Matinache is O.K.
but i have some more information.
1.After you backup all the printer run the command:
1.1 cd /var/sam
1.2 tar cvf lp.tar lp
1.3 rcp lp.tsr XXX:/tmp/ XXX is the new computer.
2.In the new computer
2.1 cd /var/sam
2.2 cp /tmp/lp.tar
2.3 mv lp lp.orig
2.4 tar xvf lp.tar
3. Restore with sam.
