Here is one for the X gurus. We recently moved all our servers onto another subnet, since then XDMCP (hummingbird Exceed) broadcast does not pick up any servers. As we have all flavours it is occurring on each unit.

Help Please

Hi,

If your servers there are on another subnet than a PC with Exceed , you can use XDMCP Broadcast only with the "HOST LIST" option. This mode is not very stable, so I'd recommend you to use "XDMCP QUERY" mode.
The pure XDMCP Broadcast works only for computers in the same subnet.

HTH

Hi Paul,

You don't need to use XDMCP broadcast unless you like to chose between various servers.

As mentioned by Paul, Use XDMCP query or XDMCP indirect option and configure the specific host to connect to.

-Sri

Guys,

Thanx, it was as I suspected from your responses. I have used the xdmcp.txt list to get the hosts up. Thanx for the responses.
