      <description>Again, I hope the translator got the question right ---&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# getconf KERNEL_BITS&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;will return 32 if your OS is 32 bit, or 64 if it is 64 bit.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;A 32-bit operating system cna ONLY RUN 32-bit programs.  It can't handle anything 64-bit.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;A 64-bit OS can run both 32-bit AND 64-bit programs.</description>
