Hello:
I have been looking at the link of the ACE.
But I have not found any relationship of the product# to the ACE revision.
One of our Systems division is telling me that June 1998 is ACE 3, but when I loaded the June 1998, the ACE was rev 2.
My guess are:
B6193CA June 1998 = ACE 3
B6193DA June 1999 = ACE 4
B6193EA Dec 1999 = ACE 5.
Just want to get documentation from HP.

If you dig around long enough at the site Robert-Jan gave you, you can find the info. Go to the Archive section, then pick the relevant release and click on the "Download" link. It will show you:

B6193EA December 1999
B6193DA June 1999
B6193CA June 1998
B6193BA April 1998

This numbering is only available internally. I found the following info:

- B6193BA Workstation ACE (April 1998) - ACE 2.0

- B6193CA Workstation ACE (June 1998) - ACE 3.0

- B6193DA Workstation ACE (June 1999) - ACE 4.0

- B6193EA Workstation ACE for HP-UX 10.20 (December 1999) - ACE 5.0

Hello All,
Thanks for the replies. Got my initial question answered.

Since the CORE OS and ACE are in one CD, do I need to re-install COLD to update the ACE version? I'd prefer not since it takes the whole day to install the rest of our Test System's software suite.

If not, is there any instruction from the ACE url?

correct someone did install both ace products after an initial install.

B6193CA B.10.20.ACE.2 Workstation ACE for HP-UX 10.20 (June 1998)
B6378BA B.10.20.ACE.0 s700 Networking ACE (199806) for HP-UX 10.20

If you like you can install a newer version on top of these ace products.

But my swlisting listed B6193CA (June 1998)as ACE 2 !

Can I deinstall ACE2 and update it with Dec 1999 ACE5 without cold install?

Now I see the confusion, I don't think the version "ACE.2" is being used for the ace version HP uses. if you check below output you will see the december 99 has 01 at the end.

To determine the version of 10.20 on an HP-UX VISUALIZE Workstation, execute this command:

/usr/sbin/swlist -l bundle | grep ACE

A message similar to the following will appear on your screen:

B6193EA ACE.199912.01 Workstation ACE for HP-UX 10.20 (December 1999)
B6378DA ACE.199912.01 Networking ACE for HP-UX 10.20 (December 1999)
