Older K classes that use 32 bit only will not work.

My 11 v2 paperwork from HP said K is not supported. On a practical level 64 bit K class boxes will work with the release.

11 v2 is a 64 bit only release, so I'm told.

There are a number of threads covering the details of these type of questions.

SEP

Just a clarification on HP-UX 11i v2:

11i v2 has 64 bit support only (NO 32 bit support).

11i v2 LR has Itanium support only (No PA-RISC).

New 11i v2 Sept 04 OE (I think; confirm exact
release OE name with HP rep) has both Itanium
and PA-RISC (64 bit only) support.

- Biswajit
Robert,

For 11i v2, the Installing and Updating guide shows the following servers as not supported (at: http://docs.hp.com/en/5990-8144/ch02s04.html):

PA-RISC Servers:
All 32-bit servers (including 32-bit A-Class servers A180 and A180C)
All D-Class servers
All R-Class servers
All E-Class servers
All K-Class servers
All T-Class servers
All V-Class servers

Therefore k-class is definitely NOT supported on 11i v2. Hope this answers the question.

Regards,

Marie-Noelle

Cheryl,

Thanks for the link (I've been searching and searching and searching . . . ). However, that matrix doesn't seem to address the 11i V2 question - it, in fact, seems to indicate that the K-class will run 11i, just as my old matrix did. Will there be a new new link?

Pete
