    <description>There can be some problems with your H/W&lt;BR /&gt;configuration. Try to find where is this &lt;BR /&gt;problem using ioscan for different groups of hardware: disk, lan, ....&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;#ioscan -fnC disk&lt;BR /&gt;#ioscan -fnC lan&lt;BR /&gt;...&lt;BR /&gt;...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This way you could localize the problem.&lt;BR /&gt;Check existing of files:&lt;BR /&gt;/etc/ioconfig&lt;BR /&gt;/dev/config&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>IF I DO ioscan on my machine session will simply hang ,we will not even able to kill that session can u help to ressolve this issue.</description>

      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;1.) It might be an IOSCAN problem, install &lt;BR /&gt;the latest ioscan patch.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;2.) IOSCAN normally takes some time (few&lt;BR /&gt;seconds) based on the hardware configuration,&lt;BR /&gt; as it searches to find any hardware changes &lt;BR /&gt;(additions &amp;amp; deletions), so this is normal.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;3.) If your intention is not scan the H/W, but&lt;BR /&gt;just get the existing H/W-driver list then&lt;BR /&gt;try using ioscan -k OR ioscan -u.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;HTH -vishwas</description>

      <description>hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;try  ioscan -fun&lt;BR /&gt;find the status of devices other than claimed(like NO_HW , scan  etc).if yes pointout which devices they are.remove that devices and try. this can happen if devices like tape goes out of state.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;regds,</description>

      <description>I guess some reason:&lt;BR /&gt;1. You lack of some OS patches. Check it by using release note.&lt;BR /&gt;2. Check file system capacity by bdf (if some file system is full all command will hang, not only ioscan)&lt;BR /&gt;3. Check syslog to determine the health of Hardware.&lt;BR /&gt;regard &lt;BR /&gt;tienna</description>
