I have a remote sharp printer, which is printing 60 coppies, even if a simple banner page is tried. can i know what is the problem

Is the number of copies on the control panel of the copier set to 60? If so set it to one.

no. I dont think , no of coppies on front pannel are set to 60, because it is a n/w printer, if printed from excel user says only one copy comes out, but in unix whis is printing from oracle 60 copies are comming, also if simple banner page is also comes out with 60 coppies. it is defined as bsd printer.

Try changing the line copy=$4 to copy=1
in the file /etc/lp/interface/"printername"
