    <description>The driver required is just a SCSI driver.  Your HPUX machine already has this installed.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can you give us the full model number?  If you can, we can likely find a user manual online for your model that answers all your questions.</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;We have a HP_UX server qith 11i O/S. I am planning to attach a Ultrium tape autoloader 1/8 to this server. I need following info :&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1) How to check if driver is installed on this &lt;BR /&gt;   server for subject tape drive.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;2) How to install the driver for subject &lt;BR /&gt;   tape drive. Where the drivers are available &lt;BR /&gt;   like CD / web&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;3) How to configure this driver to tape drive &lt;BR /&gt;   so that i can start taking backup&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;4) What is the general procedure to &lt;BR /&gt;   find/install/configure drivers for any &lt;BR /&gt;   hardware ( other than tape drive ) on HP-UX &lt;BR /&gt;   server&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;5) Any other info we have to know.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Detailed point by point answers are welcome.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;you need drivers:&lt;BR /&gt;1. for tape device- stape&lt;BR /&gt;2. for changer - schgr&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Ad 1)&lt;BR /&gt;to check if it is installed&lt;BR /&gt;kmsystem | grep stape&lt;BR /&gt;kmsystem | grep schgr&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Ad. 2)&lt;BR /&gt;you have to add drivers by SAM interface&lt;BR /&gt;SAM -&amp;gt; Kernel Configuration -&amp;gt; Drivers&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Ad. 3)&lt;BR /&gt;During system reboot all new devices are&lt;BR /&gt;recoqnized by OS.&lt;BR /&gt;You can also run ioscan and insf commands.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Ad 4)&lt;BR /&gt;like point 2)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

It is my belief that you just need a capatible, working SCSI port to attach the tape drive.</description>

      <description>The drivers are part of the standard HP-UX installation. Just use SAM to configure the tape drive. NOTE: the changer is a totally separate device and requires the auto-changer driver plus special kernel changes to allow the SCSI passthrough driver to see the changer.
