    <description>the nusers kernel paramter might become a limit, also, if You expect more than 2-5 connections / second, then consider using a different than the drfault ftp server and definitely avoid starting it via inetd (continous process creation and deletion will be a ugly limit)</description>

      <description>if you are using the ftp provided with HP-UX, the limits will be based on:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;nfile&lt;BR /&gt;nproc&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;IIRC an active FTP session has something like 7 or 8 open FDs.  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;An active FTP session is a process&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Of course, CPU limitations can come into play.  There are some FTP measurements for older HP kit at:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;A href="ftp://ftp.cup.hp.com/dist/networking/briefs/" target="_blank"&gt;ftp://ftp.cup.hp.com/dist/networking/briefs/&lt;/A&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;some are listed as "ftp" some as software download</description>
