Hi guys
I want the correct procedure to extend two LV's by adding PV's. Both the LV's are are in the same VG ,which is having strict and stripped allocation policy .And mine is the cluster setup with online JFS .

1. Due to striped and strict allocation policy do I need to present two PV's to that VG for extending ?
2.Do I have to import in the other cluster node also to get the changes updated in the other node also ?
3.Which is the best procedure to do this .halt the package or shift the package ?
Hi kamal

For your question:

1. Yes! You *HAVE TO* present two PVs to that VG for extending with *Strict* allocation policy (Check with lvdisplay command).
If you extend *ONLY* one PV, the error happen!
2. You *HAVE TO* export all VG's configuration from the current server and import them to the other server in your clusters!
3. Yes, the best way is : halt the cluster and then import...
But you can import withow halt the cluster....No problem :)

Hope this helps and goodluck

HoangChiCong
