pthread error

Hi friends,
I am getting an pthread error ... can anyone throw some light on this.

When i execute "swpackage" command ( as reported by one of our developer .. i have never used it ) i get this error:

Pthread internal error: message: __pthread_startup() failed , file: /ux/core/lib
s/threadslibs/src/common/pthreads/pthread.c, line: 8836
Return Pointer is 0xc092d430
Quit (core dumped)
bash-2.05b#

Does this mean that some of the library files got corrupted or so and what should i do for the same.

Hi Bharat,

- Run it in multiple user mode but without any others applications running(NFS,Oracle ...)(may be a max_thread_proc pbs)
-Try to run it in sh ;-).
-It can come from lock_file in /var/adm used by swpackage. So verify this way by finding with ".Lock..."
-Verify your level patch between swpackage and system
-If anything work: "A:\INSTALL"

try with installing the latest Pthread enhancement and fixes patches

PHCO_29960 or PHCO_30544 for hpux 11i

Thanks for your reply but all my machines are 11iv2 SEP 2004 and they are uptodate with patches.
Any other clues you have ..

hi,

i have seen on one document that the DCE/9000 core from installation/update cd & DCE-KT from application CD contains most of pthread libraries.can you checkout .
