Hi,
I rember that you have a inial program start witch can permit to disable processor.
you've just to press escape at the boot process and find a menu wich speak about CPU. It's the right one. You 'll find an enable-disable processor menu. That all.

For the second question, if you reduce your configuration from 4 processors to 2 processors, I think you 'll be near 80% because the system charge will be repart on two processors.

The last question . I'm use sar (SA1 and SA2) since Unix exist because it's free and Excell ofr statistics. HP sell Glance and Perfview. Efficient and justfied on Big plateforms or when you 'ev bigs problems. I think they are free for 30 days

B.R.
Hi,

can somebody please answer the below

1] what are the steps to disable a CPU on N series machine using mstm
2] without disabling CPU how to get an estimate of overhead on the applications due to the reduction in
number of CPUs. Say I got 4CPU machine ,an application runs for 1Hr with average % of CPU utilization

on 4CPUs as 35%. If I reduce the number of CPUs to 2 then does the % of CPU utilization become 70%?

3] For measuing the CPU and memory performance on the system, are there any GUI tools from HP? If so
where from can I dowload

Appreciate your help and thanks in advance

Regards
Guru
