hello
i have a problem with sendmail on my HP9000 server HPUX 11.0 , the error is
"hostname" sendmail[4370] :unable to qualify my own domain name "hostname " -- using short name . this problem affect my network printer so i can't print

Hi there - something you can try:

There is a variable in the /etc/sendmail.cf file which specifies the system domain name:

# my official domain name
# ... define this only if sendmail cannot automatically determine your domain
#Dj$w.Foo.COM

Try un-commenting this line and adding your domain name (replace Foo.COM). Leave the $w where it is though.

i have not a domain name , but i have uncommed the line spicified in /etc/mail/sendmail.cf but the error stay
the same

Then the error is valid. What makes you think this is causing printing issues?
