Timezone problem

Hello,

I've TZ=MET-1METDST in /etc/TIMEZONE ; but

system set time one hour ahead , like if it's summer time

date
Fri Feb 25 11:43:31 MET 2005

If I set time with date -u at 10:00 ( for ex ) system automatically set 11:00 ...

set_parms timezone for Central Europe let me choose only summer time ..

This what I've in tztab

# Middle European Time, Middle European Time Daylight Savings Time
MET-1METDST
0 3 25-31 3 1983-2038 0 METDST-2
0 2 24-30 9 1983-1995 0 MET-1
0 2 25-31 10 1996-2038 0 MET-1

Any suggest please .

Hi Claudio,

You have a very strange TZ... I have just this in /etc/TIMEZONE:

TZ=PWT0PST
export TZ

Maybe you should use only something like:

TZ=METDST
export TZ

Hello,

Could you also check /usr/lib/tztab
also you have to see MET-1METDST here
if so you could use date command or via from SAM.

Could you please also check env command from
root?
Also .profile of root,
and look at /etc/profile

hi,

"date -u xxxxxx"
sets the Universal time = GMT, on which your time in your timezone is calculated.
You can display it with "date -u"

Set the date/time with "date xxxxxx" and use your local date/time.

(BTW your timezone is OK)
