      <description>samx process is using 99.9% CPU. Please find the top result attached along with this.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I am using HPUX 11i.&lt;BR /&gt;When i grep for the process &lt;BR /&gt; # ps -eaf |grep samx&lt;BR /&gt;    root  3924  3923 255  Mar  4  ?        8027:41 /usr/sam/lbin/samx -C -p 3410 -s users /usr/sam/lib/%L/ug.ui&lt;BR /&gt;    &lt;BR /&gt;root  3923     1  0  Mar  4  ?         0:00 sh -c LANG=C LC_ALL=C /usr/sam/lbin/samx -C -p 3410 -s users /u&lt;BR /&gt;    &lt;BR /&gt;root 23636 27540  1 12:02:22 pts/2     0:00 grep samx&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I doubt some xwindows sam session is open.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can i kill that process / how to rectify the same. Is this related to any patching too.</description>

      <description>You should patch sam.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;ps -ef | grep sam&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Careful, some of these processes could be for example samba.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;kill the sam processes judiciously. If orphaned you may need to use kill -9, don't do that as a first resort.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>
